Designed for indoor or outdoor use the IR Dome is constructed of die-cast aluminum. Inside the vandal-proof housing is a hi-resolution color Sony CCD camera with an IR lens. In low light or night situations the IR Dome has a photo sensor that switches the camera to B/W. This is further enhanced by the built-in 20-LED IR illuminator, which provides illumination up to 50ft in little or no light. Other features include automatic white balance, automatic backlight compensation, low power consumption as well as a wide input voltage range. This Vandal resistant Color Dome Camera with IR LEDs, easy mounts securely to a wall or ceiling, it has a manual pan/tilt feature that helps get you the perfect angle without the hassle of disassembling the camera, it can capture images in complete darkness, day and night. Note: This camera not made by SONY, it using SONY Super HAD CCD image sensor and SONY DSP technology, made by one of the world largest OEM manufacture. The "microphone" model is just the standard camera with a seperate external microphone add-on: it looks like a 12inch siamese cable (but it's 3-way:power-in, power-out, audio-out) with a tiny mic wraped in tape. The "microphone" is just thrown in the box of their standard model.
Over the last six months I've bought 6 dome cameras from warehouserseller: two 420 line with power supply; two, of the "microphone" and two of the 480 line models (power supply extra). The manufacturer's spec sheet is the same for ALL cameras that I received. The camera housing varies a little (pull-apart or twist (or screw) off).
As to the Videosecu label and serial, most the cameras I ordered didn't not have it, but Jenny who answers the phone (and does tech support) swears everything is good.
OK, the cameras work fine.
The 480 line camera had a sticker on the outside of the box, but inside the box the manufacture's spec sheet says that its a 420 line camera.
I like the camera (all cameras I orderd appeard to have the same resolution) and warehouseseller ships quickly.
I recommend ONLY the standard model ($65.00) that comes with the power supply, because that's what you'll probably get anyway.
These dome cameras are fish-eye wide-angle: good as a front-door cam, back or front-yard cam. For a driveway get the swann Bulldog (bullit type) cam. To keep an eye on my car in the street, I use the swann.

I placed this camera in the same location where I had a cheap qsee camera. QSM1424 6mm 30 foot night vision.
Immediately I realized this camera did not have the resolution at night. I am using this in a interior location. I compared footage from the two cameras and the only thing you can make out in the dark on this camera are things that are white. I am very disappointed. I have contacted the seller. There is no model/serial number manufacture or brand name anywhere on the unit. The only good thing very few false alarms generated probably because this thing Cannot SEE.
update 24hrs later after trying the camera in different locations I think it does a decent job for well lit areas. At night still no go. even with the leds from three cameras on it still had a horrible picture in low light.

I bought this camera to replace another which I paid much more for. This camera is a Gem. Great focus and wide angle view. Night time is superb. You wont go wrong with it. Solid construction, none of the mickey mouse plastic stuff.

I purchased this camera from Warehouseseller. The resolution is not all that great -- somewhere around 400 lines. The "VideoSecu" logo pictured on the Amazon site is not on this camera, making me wonder if it was a bait-and-switch knock-off from China (mentioned by another buyer, as well). I would recommend shoppers look for another model, which may provide better resolution.

The camera I received was a cheap knockoff copy. After many emails and frustration and help from Amazon I able to resolve this complaint. Do buy this camera from this vendor, EverSecure!
