Decent camera for day use but heat issues June 9, 2010 Hyung Kim (San Jose, CA USA) Camera gives good daytime images and range is decent. As for night time vision forget it. Just like the other reviewers have said you can't even see 5 feet. I do like the fact it is not on 2.4 frequency so it doesn't mess with my home wireless network. The biggest concern I have is where the camera connector connects to the power adapter runs EXTREMELY hot, thinking it might be a fire hazard. So I purchased another unit and it does the same thing. Contacted Lorex technician and they say it shouldn't be that hot. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
DON'T BUY IT June 5, 2010 Larry A. Jones The ONLY way this camera can see in the dark is if you have the lights on. They say it is good up to about 10 feet, but this is not true at all. I was wanting to keep an eye on my car, but when the night light for where our cars are parked goes out. You see absolutely nothing, and my car is only five feet from my camera. I certainly wasted my money and time on this product. I will keep the camera for day use, but even in the daylight hours the color on this camera is very bad. Don't waste your time or money on this camera. P.S. So you know, I am not some newbie to computers or building computers. I am very computer savvy and there is not one setting anywhere to make this camera see in the dark. I even said a prayer and not even God can fix it.
Great for security April 25, 2010 exconsul 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This wireless camera system was one of the few that could be used outdoors. It was very easy to connect, has a really clear picture, has excellent wireless range, works better than expected at night and even has an audio feature that was an unknown bonus. I bought it on amazon at a great price and it came right away. I actually gave it as a gift (easily installed) to someone who lives alone and now has it pointed at their front door. it was a total win.
Little disapointed March 28, 2010 David Huber (Hesperia, Ca United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Its affordable and the picture quality is good for wireless but the range wasn't as good as I had hoped. If you get close to the 150ft indoor range the quality will start to drop fast. I also have a lot of other wireless intereference in my house that could be affecting it. If you don't have a long distance this is a good product.
Great camera if mine only worked February 17, 2010 Steven Earth Metz (USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This camera was a cheap wireless camera and after about two minutes it would over heat and loose signal even only ten feet away. I think it may have been defective to be honest but I am not sure. it ended up costing me 9 dollars to send it back to the seller and it was not really easy to get him or her to just take it back. First he tried the 14 day return policy statement but truth is I contacted him right away so after that Amazon stepped in and he agreed and gave me a refund. What can I say the little cam did not work plus saying it is wireless is not really true because it needs power to be used for any extended period of time of course that requires wires. it could be designed with a lithium rechargeable and a photo cell then it would be wireless and could be used in sunny areas for extended periods of time.
