Did not meed my needs June 28, 2010 Kay Piercy I was replacing an alarm device I had had for many years and which is no longer made. This new one "tinkled" every time a slight breeze occured and the alarm was really just a "tinkle". I could not hear it unless I was within 10 feet of it.
Chamberlain CWA 2000 - JUNK - JUNK - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - SORRY! June 22, 2010 Sandra G. Walker (PENDERGRASS, GA, US) Bought this 1 month ago - battery pak went out after Radio Shack installed their best batteries. Found out it was a glitch in the cheap battery pak.
Reinstalled batteries, wiped out moisture, same mouse squeak. THIS IS AN INSULT TO INTELLIGENT ENGINEERING. The designers of this need to be on welfare.
I had the old style for 15 years. Never had a problem except it wore out with time. This junk is the result of ignorance, bottom line and hopefully bankruptcy.
A high schooler in advanced electicity could do much better. Since when do we change what is working for JUNK?
May the buyer beware - biggest joke is customer service.
There is a phone monkey that will listen to you and say sorry. RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!
Low receiver volume still not fixed May 12, 2010 Mardee_c (Seattle, WA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I do not own this item, but was looking to purchase it since it gets decent reviews other than the receiver volume being too low to hear. I emailed Chamberlain today and asked them if this volume problem has been fixed and they said no, and there is no release date for the new, louder model. Just thought I would share this info. as an fyi for anyone looking to buy this model. I am not buying it since it defeats the purpose of having a driveway alarm if you can't hear the alarm when it goes off!
driveway alert April 20, 2010 A. Traver (wisconsin) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Alarm does not work consistantly nor does it sound very loud...would not buy this product again.
I can't hear you! April 20, 2010 Penny 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product seems to have good range and sensitivity, but lacks the volume to actually alert you. There is a place to adjust the volume--but the sound only varies from silent to quiet. If you are awake and sitting within 10 feet of it, with no other noise around, I suppose it would work well. But if you plan to ever listen to music, watch t.v., step out of the room, etc, the alarm is so tiny that it is unheard. (My father asked me what I had to feed the mouse inside it--ha ha) It would certainly never wake you at night, which is why we wanted it in the first place.
