worked as stated July 11, 2010 carmello The door sensor went out on my old Craftsman 1/2 HP opener. This replacement unit did the job and was reasonably priced. A tip I did get from a previous review was that you can use your Comcast remote to test your receive sensor. Even though the light was out, when I used the remote the green light came on, thus proving it wasn't the receive sensor that was bad. Took me about fifteen minutes to splice in the new unit and all was good again.
Before you buy April 20, 2010 J. Newton Make sure you check the wiring on the main unit, before you purchase. A bad connection can also prevent sensors from performing. Because my sensors were also dim, I ordered this pair. Upon receiving them, I thought I would then check the wiring on the main unit--stupid me, I know. A wire was loose, and I tightened, and the old one worked. Oh, well. I also discovered that these units did not adapt to my old mounts, and I would have to build up the wall to accomodate the shorter brackets provided. So....just a warning to avoid my errors and check all connections first, and measure your brackets. That being said, it still would have been a pretty easy fix with these new units. Now I have back up sensors! Yay!
Fixed my garage door issue March 22, 2010 G. Castellanos (Fresno, CA) I recently purchase a foreclosed home that has a Chamberlain Liftmaster garage door opener. Had no remote controls and was missing one of the sensors. When I purchase the remote controls, I was having the same issue as the previous comments that were made by Aaron Pattillo. That's when I found out of the missing sensor. I figured I'd give this product a try. Installation would have been easy had there been a bracket already in place. I had to install with less than 6 inches of space to not obscure from the garage door on the side that was missing the sensor. This product works great with the easy to use instructions and I finely can use a garage door opener with a remote. I would definitely recommend this product.
Chamberlain sensors March 15, 2010 Ellen Fryou (Gautier, MS) Very easy product to install, took about a half hour. Ya don't have to be an electrician to do this job. Instructions were very straight forward and easy to follow. We've had the sensors installed about three weeks now and they're working like a charm. Excellent product.
Easy fix for a garage that won't open properly February 10, 2010 Mole Madness I had a garage door that kept blinking like something was stuck in the way. Realized the sensors were dead and sent off for these replacements. It was the easiest thing I have fixed in years.
