Customer Reviews: expensive keychain flashlight (RF detector does not work) June 29, 2010 Donald Kanter (San Diego) The description says it works from 10-15 feet away with a yellow light and then 2 feet away with a red light...in reality, i need to be less than 6 inches away from the camera for it to work (goes straight from green to red at 6 inches away, no yellow)
Better than expected April 7, 2010 Jason Black (Midwest, USA) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
...though, admittedly, I didn't expect much. It's deaf beyond about 10 inches or so (this is true of many $100-$200 detectors) and the lack of signal strength indication can be maddening (I was in an elevator once and it detected constant RF no matter where I held it - maybe I was in a big microwave and didn't know it). In any event, it responds to a wide range of RF and it has lasted over a month now attached to my key chain which is far more than expected (even my keys have a hard time standing up to the abuse).
