Product Description
The WPA-3000 is an extremely reliable driveway alarm that is used to detect vehicles only. The transmitter operates on one 9-volt battery and has 50' of direct burial wire connecting the probe to the exterior case. The probe is buried parallel to the driveway, and will detect vehicles passing by within approximately 10-12 feet. The direct burial cable can be run to a tree or post nearby, where the transmitter box is located. When a vehicle drives by, the transmitter will send a signal to the WR-3000 receiver up to 600 feet away*. The WPA-3000 is ideal in locations where there may be deer or other large animals that would cause false signals with a motion detecting system. Also, because the probe is buried underground, it will be the least noticeable of our wireless systems. The transmitter is weatherproof and meant for exterior locations. Up to four zones can be monitored with additional transmitters. The transmitters can be programmed so they will each sound a different tone at the receiver.

I am very pleased with my Driveway Alert Kit. I looked at other devices and read all of the reviews. This one was highly rated, and I am not disappointed. Our long driveway is hidden from our living room. I wanted something to warn me of a car approaching my house. I laid the device beside the driveway, and placed the wireless box on a nearby tree. I have had to move it a couple of times, and to raise and lower the sensitivity, but now it works very well. I recommend this product.

After much research my husband and I settled on the WPA 3000 wireless probe. We have had other driveway alert products that have not functioned as advertised and this time we wanted one that just worked! The WPA 3000 didn't take long to install and worked perfectly! It is just great to know when a car comes up the driveway! It does not register animals just vehicles which is also nice as we live in the country with lots of animals around. My husband put the control in a birdhouse that you can purchase for the 3000. Now you only see the birdhouse and it protects the control.

We have a long gravel drive and have tried multiple driveway alarms. The motion detectors go off with every wave of a weed or bush...the solar magnetic detectors only last approximately one year...so, we decided to invest in this driveway alarm. We have had it in place for a few weeks now and it is great! The only false alarm has been during a lightning storm. Other than that, it is accurate every time, unlike the others that go off in the middle of the night, when a weed blows, etc.
This alarm is a little pricey compared to others, but had I bought it 5 years ago I would have saved all the headaches with the other cheaper versions.
I would recommend this driveway alarm to anyone who has a long driveway because the signal is received from hundreds of yards and you have plenty of time to react to someone coming up your drive.
It also has a volume control so you can adjust to your needs.

With 3 dogs here at home on 3 acres and 400' of driveway we decided it was time to have some sort of alert system for when vehicles show up unannounced. The dogs are on an electronic fence system that goes about half way up the drive so it's good to have an advance warning of an arrival. We opted for the magnetic sensor due to the high deer population which would make a motion sensor based alarm system ineffective. The installation was easy and after a few adjustments on the sensitivity of the unit due to some false alarms we are quite satisfied with the sensor. I highly recommend this unit to any home owner who wants the ability to know whenever someone is coming down your driveway. The unit gives you the freedom to be occupied doing other things while waiting for an arrival and the peace of mind to know you will be alerted to any unexpected visitors as long as you are within earshot of the base alarm unit. Easy setup and the unobtrusive nature of the system are also pluses.

This product is very unreliable and the support of Absolute Automation AKA Quick Alarms -- the Ontario, Canada dealer -- has been very poor. I will never buy another Dakota Alert product, nor will I recommend their products or dealers to anyone. Stay away from this product; it's junk.
